Nougat Palmiers

These super quick and moreish palmiers will have you hooked. This recipe is easily adaptable to any of the Nougat and Nice 200g Boxes to suit anyone's flavor preference. Whether you want that little something extra from your grazing table or you need a quick afternoon tea, these are the answer to your cravings.

 

Serves: 10   Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:
200g Nougat and Nice Spiced Fruit and Nut Nougat
2x Sheets of puff pastry


Method:
1. Preheat oven to 200'C fan forced oven and prepare one baking tray lined with baking paper. Place to the side.

2. Remove wrapper from nougat and roughly chop. Place nougat into a food processor and blitz to a very fine crumb.

3. Remove to sheets of puff pastry from the freezer and place onto the clean kitchen bench keeping the film on the back.

4. Evenly divide the nougat crumb between the 2 sheets and spread all over the sheet of pastry. Start rolling the pastry, peeling the plastic film off as you roll.
Roll from the top side down in a tight roll into the middle and stop. Roll the bottom side up the same to the middle and stop.

5. Using a sharp knife slice off 1cm thick round to expose nice little swirls. Cut up both rolls and lay flat onto the prepared tray with a little space between to puff up.

6. Place tray in to oven and bake for 8 mins or until golden brown. Remove from oven and place Palmiers onto a cooling rack until cool. Dust with icing sugar and serve with tea or coffee and friends.

Hint: Roll and slice then freeze in a container layered with baking paper between, then remove and bake fresh when ever you need them.
